Truth be told.. I don't remember the exact moment.
But I believe I was around 14 years old when it first really enmeshed itself into my intuitive understanding. And then, being the fortuitous product of the Millennial generation, all I had to do was scour the interwebz for every ounce of information I could find.. and learn!
I did this for a number of years. Mostly fueled by a desire to use this esoteric science to understand myself better. But over time, it began to blossom into a greater understanding of the astrological world at large. And I found that unlike highschool algebra.. THIS came to me naturally.
Around 19, I started to do mini-readings at work. Or at least imparting whatever information I knew in random break room conversations. I must have spoken with authority about it (Thanks Aries rising!).. because people began constantly consulting me about their natal charts and personalities. Since this was something I just naturally wanted to talk about, I embraced every opportunity to do so. And I earned the nickname "Astrology girl" at many a Dayspa. (I was a massage therapist for 9 years).
Although I seemed to have the chops to have a successful Astrology career early on, I lumped it in with my other artistic pursuits and saw it as a hobby. For years.
I paid the bills as a successful bodyworker in San Francisco for 4 of my 9 years as a therapist, and pursued an illustration degree at AAU.
It wasn't until a recent Pluto transit over my midheaven (doozy for career life.. that one'll get you where you need to go.) that I decided to cast off the shackles of fear and insecurity and really launch out into the wilderness of pursuing my passions. In so-doing, I've chosen to offer my long-earned knowledge, creative perspective, and intuition about astrology to the public professionally. Not much excites me more in life than seeing people connect the dots about themselves.. and learn more about their true passions and abilities. Astrology is nothing if not a tool to help people flower.
So now, I do charts, talk to people about Saturn, and paint things. I really do live my passions, and choose not to make anything else an option.
But then.. Uranus IS currently on my Ascendant. What do you expect?
